Youth ages 16–26 preparing for post-secondary education, training, or the workforce

What each session covers

  1. Session type

    Scholarship search and applications

Where to look, how to read eligibility criteria, building a deadline tracker, and writing an essay that answers the question that was actually asked.

  2. Session type

    Internships and first work experience

Finding openings, résumés with limited experience, interview preparation and practice, and what to expect in a first professional role.

  3. Session type

    Industry conversations

Panels and Q&A with professionals across fields so participants can hear how careers were actually built, including the detours.

  4. Session type

    Mentor office hours

Scheduled one-to-one time with vetted volunteer mentors for application review, goal setting, and honest feedback.

  5. Ongoing

    Referrals and follow-through

Participants who stay connected receive opportunity referrals as they come in, with check-ins on what was applied for and what happened next.

By the end you will be able to

  • Run an organised scholarship search with deadlines tracked
  • Draft and revise a scholarship or internship application
  • Prepare a résumé and a short introduction for professional settings
  • Ask useful questions of professionals in a field of interest
  • Build and maintain a small professional network
  • Follow up on referrals and opportunities without losing track

What's included

  • A scholarship deadline tracker
  • Résumé and introduction templates
  • Application review by a volunteer mentor
  • Ongoing opportunity referrals for connected participants

This is a good fit if

  • You want opportunities but do not know where to look
  • You have applications to submit and want a second set of eyes
  • You would benefit from talking to someone already in the field
